This products works amazingly well if USED CORRECTLY. My pharmacist recommended it for a period of two weeks, just to break the initial nicotine dependancy, and it did the trick. Following that two week period, the rest was up to me...obviously I did not use any more of the drug. The suggestion that one can suffer depression to the point of requiring therapy is the most ludicrous thing imaginable....this person must have required therapy long before Chantix use...either that or used the drug for a period of six months or more...which is just plain stupid as the instructions plainly state using the drug for no more than recommended by YOUR DOCTOR oR PHARMACIST ! In my case...two weeks.

I was taking Chantix for two months, yes I did quit smoking, for three months. I also gained about forty pounds. I also ended up becoming extremely depressed and somewhat paranoid and ended up having a psychotic break that culminated in a suicide attempt. Perhaps if more people had been around while I was taking Chantix and noticed the bizarre behaviour someone would have said something, but myself, it was so gradual that I didn't notice I was acting anything out of the ordinary and attributed my emotions to stress.
Within three months of coming off of the Chantix, all of the depression and paranoia had disappeared, the weight fell off so quickly people though I had started abusing illegal drugs, and I started smoking again. Unfortunately the scars I have will last a lifetime.
This was almost a year ago. Today however, marks day four from deciding I was done with cigarettes and quitting cold turkey. Surprisingly, I feel absolutely fantastic.
Don't take Chantix, it's just not worth it. I've honestly never heard any good reviews from people around me that have actually taken it. The stuff is poison in more ways than one.
